FAQ

Where do you source your meat from?

We partner with small, local farms in the Okanagan Valley who are dedicated to practicing traditional animal husbandry, raising their animals humanely and providing them with quality, non-GMO feed. Learn more about our partner Farmers.

who are your butchers?

All of our meats are processed, packaged, and frozen for freshness in reputable, Provincially Inspected facilities. Specific facilities will vary from ranch to ranch, as most Ranchers have typically built good working relationships with their butchers and we fully support this.

Our home ranch currently works with FarmHouse Butchery in Westbridge, BC.

why frozen?

Our meats are frozen at the butchers immediately after packaging to ensure optimal freshness and quality of product. We understand this may be a change for customers who are accustomed to purchasing non-frozen meats to cook the same day; however, the overall freshness of product and low-waste is well worth a bit more planning in our opinion!

Do you sell sides?

No, but we are happy to provide contact information to families who would like to purchase a side directly from the Ranchers! Our meats are cut and wrapped in 2-4lb packages to allow families a convenient alternative to buying meat from big chain grocery stores.

what are your prices?

For agriculture to be sustainable, Farmers need to get paid reasonably for their work. Our meat is priced competitively with market value, please see our Products & Pricing page for full details

what are your payment options?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and good ol' cash.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "FOOD SECURITY"? WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, all of us experienced the effects of supply chain issues and it became clear that we needed to re-evaluate the way we get our food, and from where. Simply put, we want to ensure that our community continues to have reliable access to high quality, reasonably priced, fresh meats. We believe the best way to achieve this is by building strong relationships with local farmers, and supporting the expansion of local agricultural infrastructure, allowing for higher capacities of production within the area.

what do you mean by "naturally Raised"?

We mean that the animals are treated humanely, raised without the use of hormones, growth implants, antibiotics or GMO-feed, and are allowed to roam freely on rangelands or pastures for the majority of their lives.
